The holiday season is about to go into full swing. Thanksgiving is right around the corner. The following holiday is Christmas. How many days are there until Christmas exactly, huh?

In the serving world, we love Christmas. People are pretty happy most of the time. Friends go out of their way to make sure all is just right.  There’s even a little family drama which keeps the nights interesting.

We also love to work the day before Christmas. Our customers are usually very generous on that day. I’ll let the social psychologists discuss why this is the case.

At The Stack, a server brother and I have been counting down the days til Christmas since mid January. This is the second year we have done the countdown. You may be asking why. My response?  Why not?

My server brother would go up to a fellow server and will ask,  “How’s your night going?” or “What section are you working?” They’d answer.  Then he’d say the number of days ’til Christmas. Mind you, this would happen in early spring and the middle of summer.  The sheer confusion on the server’s face in response to the countdown is priceless! I’m usually in the background giggling.

A second server brother saw we were counting down the days so he brought us a gift.  Imagine a silver colored rectangle about 5″ long. There’s a small display showing the actual countdown. I laughed so hard when I saw the gift.
