Nails vs Nub Nubs
Appearance is important for a server. It’s just a truth that can’t be ignored. Hair washed. Clean clothes. Smell good. Fresh breath. Brushed teeth. Clean face.
Some of my server sisters go the extra mile and get their nails done. A great nail tech is a true treasure. I honestly didn’t know there were so many designs, colors, and lengths out there! And let’s not get into the free hand designs! Wow! Just… wow!!
I don’t have a nail tech. I grew up playing the violin. Short nails were a necessity. I tried those press on nails twice in my life. One was for a role in a college play about 20 years ago. The other was for a bikini competition 10 years ago. I have short, little nubs for fingernails.
So while my server sisters are showing their latest designs, I hide my hands behind my back. That’s alright. Those nails are absolutely gorgeous.
However, when it comes to doing tasks that requires nail strength, my finger nubs are there to help.
For example, when the ketchup bottles need that little barrier that’s glued to the top of that bottle, Team Nub Nubs is there to help. My nails won’t break. They’re too short!
Team Nails has their role. They give a professional polish at the tables. Team Nub Nubs will get down to the nitty gritty. They handle the tough tasks.
I’m Team Nub Nubs.
