Miss ya Dad
I love my father. He taught me the value of hard work. He was loving and kind. He’d give you his last dollar. He told dad jokes before it was a thing.
Dad was a Vietnam Vet. Marines. While he was in battle, a grenade exploded and caused much damage to one of his legs. He had an above the knee amputation eventually. He earned a Purple Heart.
Dad had a huge heart. It’s ironic that his heart challenges were what eventually claimed his life. I was there in the room with him when he passed away about 2 years ago.
Dealing with this situation while working in a very stressful environment was a strain. If it wasn’t for my crazy server family, the stressful situation would have been unbearable.
But you know what? It felt good knowing the other servers had my back. They listened and gave me space to breathe. They helped where they could. I’ve always been grateful for that.
We may say crazy things to each other. Sometimes, we’ll even have what I call “strong, loud discussions. ” The poor managers will have to drag us into their office. Despite that, we’ve got each other’s backs when all is said and done.
Thank you server family! Y’all helped me through a very tough time!
