Release the Fear
One night, a serving brother told me that he saw odd behavior at my table. A young lady brought in her personal aerosol disinfectant. She sprayed her silverware, the table, the chair, and the booth. The smell of spray was closing even through the mask.
I had to wear gloves whenever I went to her table. I needed to stand further away from the booth than usual. My words were abrupt yet kind. This way, she didn’t think she was going to catch the Corona virus.
I can always tell who will need this variety of service. It’s in their eyes. It’s always in their eyes. Fear. It’s intense, unwaivering fear. I do my best to reassure them that all will be well. However, the best thing I can do is give them as much space as I can.
I truly hope the fear completely goes away one day. The decision to release the fear is all up to her. It’s up to all who are afraid to shed the fear like a deciduous tree in autumn. This way, new growth can happen.
