ESPN Pro gamers
The restaurant plays sports on the tvs there. Since the pandemic, they had no live sports until recently. The replayed Classic games. They did a documentary about the Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls. There was a documentary about Dennis Rodman. After a while though, there wasn’t much to air. So they got creative.
I didn’t believe what I saw at first. I honestly thought the race was live. But as I watched the screen, I learned the race cars weren’t driven by humans. Well, the humans weren’t in the car. They were driven by professional gamers!
There were sports reporters talking excitedly about a video game! I haven’t talked excitedly about a video game since Mario Brothers. They even had pictures of the gamers. Their skins were pale, devoid of light. And they had large eyes like nocturnal animals. It was as if their souls were infused with the pixels of the game.
Did I watch the race? You bet I did! I mean, I did while making sure my patrons were comfortable.
