Sudden Change
All restaurants in my county must be shut down for the next 15 days. I understand in my head the reason why. My community’s health is very important. My heart has trouble understanding though. Who is going to feed the business men and women from out of town? Who is going to give out of towners a taste of Kansas City? How will the KC hosts impress their family now?
I’m proud of the food I serve. I’m proud of the high quality service I provide. I’m proud of all the team members I work alongside. We’re a family, albeit a sometimes dysfunctional one. Yet, we’re family and that works for me.
My finances are in decent shape. I workout from home. My emotional health is good. I can even continue to grow in my very first hobby, crochet. (There are so many new techniques!) But I’ll miss my family greatly.
Stay safe. Stay healthy. Stay positive. I’ll see you in 15 days server fam. We’ll catch up. Until then, know you are in my thoughts and most certainly my prayers.
