Shared Sodas? Noooo!!!!!!
I have a PSA moment here. Gotta get this off my chest. Here’s my request. Please don’t share fountain drinks at a restaurant. Just…don’t.
Trust me, we know when drinks are being shared. We know the average drinking pace of a single soda sipper. We note the placement of the fountain drink on the table. We count the times we do free refills. There’s no way to sneak a shared drink. Servers are curious problem solvers by nature.
Servers know when a soda drink is shared. We know and won’t say a word. Because in our minds, it’s not worth the fight and the potential bad juju that would happen in a confrontation over some pop. Just be aware we would prefer everyone to have their own glass. Drink pop to their heart’s content.
Note I emphasized fountain drinks. Adult beverages can be shared with no ire from us at all. We like to sell adult drinks, shared or not.
