Beer Judge
All of my server friends know this. Even my manager, bless her heart, knows about my upcoming excitement. I’ve been talking and talking and talking and talking…. etc…The beer judging competition, my first one ever, is this coming weekend. And I do believe this will make me a stronger seller of the beers available at my job.
So what is a beer competition? Best analogy I can think of is a dog show. When a judge thinks of a certain breed of dog, there are definite qualities that makes that breed of dog. That’s the same with beers.
There are home brewers in the area who submit their beers in specific categories. So for example, when one thinks of let’s say…a lager…there are certain qualities that makes a lager a lager. There’s certain qualities that makes a stout a stout. As a beer judge, I will (with the guidance of those more experienced) take sips of beers in different categories and give feedback.
Totally exciting. I do believe this will make me a stronger server too!
