Valentine’s Fool

I’ve been known to put my foot in my mouth. And with love kindling in the air with Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I’d like share one of my more bumbling moments.

I’m a hopeless romantic. One night, a man gave his lady some flowers at the end of the date. Me and my overactive imagination thought he was going to propose to her. I pondered that possibility of engagement with my coworkers who were nearby. Unfortuately, another couple nearby overheard me too. The lady was smiling in anticipation. The man looked petrified. The flowers were for a completely different table.

The flowers went to the correct table and a potentially embarrassing situation was averted. I learned an important lesson. It’s best to keep some comments to myself. Zip the lip.

Still working on that lesson though. 😉
