A Brave and Lonely Woman

A few weeks ago, I served on a busy Saturday night. Got triple sat. One of them was a woman by herself.

I was way behind and my server friend was there to help. There was a slight modification with her order which caused some confusion. After the issue was cleared, the woman opened  up and spoke.

“This is the first time I’ve been out since my husband died 4 months ago. Dinner time is the toughest. We always have a meal together.”

Oh, that got my heart strings all tangled. My heart went out to her. I told her that there was no way I could understand her pain. All we can do is take it one day at a time. The woman agreed.

You never know who will take a seat to eat. I still remember her and say a prayer for her every once in a while. What a brave woman.
